Con el propósito de crear determinados estereotipos, el periódico Der Stürmer a través de las imágenes proyectó consolidar en la población ciertas características especiales que tenían los individuos, especialmente los judíos que eran asociados con vergüenza, animales, putrefacción, entre otros.
Jonathan Glover en "Humanidad e inhumanidad Una historia moral del siglo XX" explica dentro del contexto del despojamiento de la dignidad y del estatus humano que "se utilizaban estereotipos hostiles, como en los dibujos de Der Stürmer. Éstos se encuentran al borde mismo de una de las formas más extremas de distanciamiento: la sugerencia de que algunas personas ni siquiera son seres humanos"
